Purple Paws Pet Clinic is an AAHA-accredited hospital. AAHA-accredited hospitals are Champions for Excellent Care. They hold themselves to a higher standard. AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. Practices are accredited based on stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of veterinary medicine - from pain management and patient care to team training and medical record keeping - and are continuously updated to keep accredited practice teams at the forefront of the profession.
Today, only 15% of veterinary practices in the US and Canada hold the “AAHA-accredited” designation.
Dr. Liz McCalley was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and grew up near Dallas, TX. She graduated with honors from Cornell University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015 from Texas A&M University.
Dr. McCalley began her career as a small animal veterinarian in Austin, TX at the Banfield Mueller hospital. Semi annual preventive care exams are the best way to catch illness early and have the best possible outcome. This is especially important for pets since they cannot tell us when something does not feel right and instinctually hide their symptoms. These visits include a comprehensive physical exam, discussion of lifestyle risks (feeding, environmental, breed specific), and recommendations tailored to your individual pet’s needs. We also offer wellness plans to incorporate the most common recommendations at a discounted price.
Dental disease is the most common problem diagnosed in pets and is completely preventable. Untreated disease causes pain, tooth loss, infection, bad breath, and increased risk for damage to internal organs.
We evaluate your pet’s teeth and oral health at every visit. There are several home hygiene options we can recommend to keep you and your pet happy. When needed, we offer comprehensive oral health and treatment services including:

Having medications available right away means we can show you how to administer the first dose during your visit and have your pet feeling better sooner. For refills, we have an online pharmacy where medications and therapeutic diets can ship directly to your home within a few days. Because our online pharmacy does not source from unreliable third party channels as many do, you can be confident in the quality and safe handling of the products.
We offer both routine bathing and medicated skin treatments to all patients seen within the past year. Let us take care of these time consuming and messy tasks and leave yourself and your bathroom clean and dry. For pets that don’t appreciate spa treatments, we offer sedation under doctor supervision.
We offer boarding for both cats and dogs for all patients seen within the past year. Have confidence leaving your pets close to home knowing that doctors are here every day and available should any health needs arise.
